You´ll also see the teñideros, the place where the river takes on a magical colour.

Please note: It is possible that during extreme weather conditions of constant, long-lasting, heavy rains, the river may lose its colouration due to mud carried in the water. Spend some time settling into your surroundings at the luxurious Rio Celeste resort this afternoon. The outdoor pool offers the perfect spot for some relaxation and offers a swim up bar with tempting refreshments.

Rio Celeste Hideaway Hotel is located on the slopes of the foot of the Tenorio Volcano and just 2 km from the Tenorio National Park Entrance. Tastefully designed, the casitas reflect the natural setting with ceilings fashioned from bamboo, wood floors and artfully tiled bathrooms with 'his and hers' vanities, soaker tubs and secluded outdoor showers. DAY 3: Rio Celeste To Arenal

Meet your local guide and driver for a private vehicle transfer from Rio Celeste to La Fortuna.

Under the glow of the evening sky, head out on a privately guided, two-hour tour to discover the Arenal jungle as its nocturnal inhabitants begin to awaken. Setting out as dusk begins, witness the wonder of Arenal at sunset, a time of great activity within the rainforest.

During these twilight hours, you will see a range of animals that are not typically seen during daylight hours, and a number of diurnal animals behaving quite differently. Observe and listen to insects, amphibians, reptiles and mammals as you wind your way through the jungle trails, keeping on the lookout for red-eyed tree frogs and walking stick bugs which are hard to spot in the day yet are often found right in front of your eyes in the evening. Sloths, armadillos and a fascinating range of nocturnal birds are a few more of the many animal' fortunate guests may spot this evening under the Costa Rican starlit sky.

DAY 4: Arenal, Costa Rica

Home to a wide range of wildlife where natural wonders abound, join your specialist guide and driver on a private tour of two of Arenal' most impressive highlights. Experience the rainforest and begin by tracking along hanging bridges high in the canopy, aiming to catch a glimpse of the incredible fauna from insects as small as leaf-cutter ants to mammals as large as sloths, with spiders, lizards and toucans in between as you explore this renowned two-mile circuit, then enjoy a tasty picnic lunch before transferring to Arenal Volcano.

Between 1968 and 2010 this volcano was among the most active in the world, but in recent years it has laid silent, today affording you the perfect opportunity to explore its unique ecosystem. This portion of the day' adventure is not challenging; instead, it is an opportunity to spot wildlife and learn about the many rare and endemic species, plants included, that make the northern lowlands of Arenal one of the most bio-diverse places on Earth. Though every exploration is unique, dart frogs, snakes, vultures, and blue morpho butterflies may be spotted, along with an incredible array of tropicbirds, the blue-crowned motmot and collared aracari being two of the regions more famed, if rarest, inhabitants.

At the end of your journey, catch the view from a lovely vista before being returned to your hotel.
