Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Paro - Thimphu

After you arrive at Paro International Airport, our representative will assist you with customs and immigration. Enjoy a scenic drive to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, passing through the picturesque Paro Valley. En route, stop at the historic Tachogang Lhakhang Bridge. Check in to Hotel Ariya or Similar in Thimphu and take some time to relax. If time allows, explore Thimphu, including visits to the Folk Heritage Museum and the vibrant weekend market.

Day 2: Thimphu

After a hearty breakfast, begin your day with a visit to Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang) for stunning views of the Thimphu Valley. Continue to Thimphu Town, where you'll explore the National Memorial Chorten, a beautiful stupa honouring the late King. Afterwards, visit the Jungshi Handmade Paper Factory to witness the traditional art of papermaking. Experience Bhutanese culture at Simply Bhutan (closed on Tuesdays), where you can try Ara, a local rice wine, and participate in archery, Bhutan's national sport. Wrap up your day with a visit to a Bhutanese crafts bazaar, where you can shop for handicrafts and garments.

Day 3: Thimphu - Punakha

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan. Along the way, stop at Dochu La Pass to admire the 108 Stupas, a memorial commissioned by a former Queen to honour those who lost their lives during a conflict in 2002. On clear days, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the eastern Himalayas. Continue your journey with a light hike through vegetable fields to Chimi Lhakhang, a sacred pilgrimage site known for blessing childless couples. Explore the nearby village for a glimpse into the daily life of the locals. Enjoy a riverside picnic lunch en route before arriving at your hotel, Zhingkham Resort or Similar. Check in and spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 4: Punakha - Paro

After having breakfast, visit the impressive Punakha Dzong, a blend of medieval and modern architecture serving as the winter residence of the Central Monk Body. After that, embark on a scenic drive to Paro, check in at your hotel and, if time allows, explore the town with your guide. In the afternoon, visit Ta Dzong, now the National Museum, and Rinpung Dzong with its historic wall paintings.  Explore Paro's charming streets in the evening, lined with shops and local restaurants, offering a perfect opportunity for some last-minute shopping or to soak in the local atmosphere.

Day 5: Paro

After breakfast, embark on an excursion to Tiger's Nest monastery, a sacred site perched on a cliff 900m above the Paro Valley floor. The trail, adorned with prayer flags, leads to this revered eighth-century monastery, where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated. Enjoy breathtaking views from the high observation point before descending to the monastery. After exploring the monastery, savor a hearty lunch with a view. Return to the hotel, with an optional visit to Kyichu Lakhang, a 7th-century temple, on the way back. Relax for the rest of the day, perhaps with a spa appointment.

Day 6: Paro - Singapore
