Detailed Itinerary

Days 1 - 2: Shamwari Private Game Reserve

Arrive at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg at 6:10 am. Transfer to Port Elizabeth for a 1-hour private transfer to Riverdene Family Lodge in Shamwari. Check-in and enjoy an afternoon game drive, followed by dinner at the lodge. Riverdene Family Lodge offers a warm atmosphere, ideal for families with its Kids on Safari program.

Expert Tips:

Upon arrival at Riverdene Family Lodge, parents can register their kids for the Kids on Safari Adventure Centre. Kids will have access to both indoor and outdoor activities throughout their stay. Child minding is available at an additional cost for children younger than 4 years as they are too young to join game drives. While kids under the age of 4 years old are not permitted on game drives, there are a host of activities for them to enjoy. The lodge offers a children’s coordinator at Riverdene.

Day 3: Plettenberg Bay

Enjoy a morning game drive followed by breakfast at the lodge. At 11 am, embark on a private transfer to Plettenberg Bay, with a stop at Tsitsikamma along the way, covering approximately 232 km. Lunch and dinner are at your leisure.

Day 4: Plettenberg Bay

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a leisurely day. Depending on your interest level, you can visit Monkeyland and Birds of Eden. Lunch and dinner are at your leisure, allowing you to explore and enjoy the day at your own pace.

Day 5: Hermanus

Begin your day with breakfast at the hotel. After checking out, embark on a transfer to Hermanus, a drive of approximately 455 km. Enjoy lunch at your leisure along the way. Hermanus is renowned for its southern right whales, which can be spotted in Walker Bay from June to early December. These whales migrate annually from Antarctica to South Africa's Cape Whale Coast for mating, calving, and raising their young. Dinner is also at your leisure in Hermanus.

 

Day 6: Cape Town

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel, then check out and join the Abalone Tour in Hermanus. Learn about the history and biology of abalone, as well as the challenges it faces, before visiting Abagold, one of South Africa's largest abalone farms. Witness farming activities and learn about the farm's innovative infrastructure. After the tour, have lunch at your leisure before transferring to your hotel in Cape Town, approximately 122 km away, and checking in at The More Quarters Hotel. Enjoy the evening at leisure.

Day 7: Cape Town

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a private Cape Peninsula tour. Experience the stunning coastline of Millionaire's Paradise and visit the African Penguin Colony at Simon's Town and Boulders Beach. Enjoy lunch at one of the restaurants in Simon's Town (at your own expense) before exploring the Cape of Good Hope section of the Table Mountain National Park. Return to your hotel for the evening, where you can enjoy dinner at your leisure.

Day 8: Cape Town

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel. If weather permits, take a cable car ride up Table Mountain for panoramic views. Explore historical sites like the Cape Castle, Company Gardens, and the Bo-Kaap. Drive past Parliament Buildings and City Hall. Enjoy lunch at your leisure and spend the afternoon shopping or relaxing. Dinner is also at your leisure.

Day 9: Cape Town

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then spend the day at leisure exploring the V&A Waterfront. Depending on your interest, you may choose to visit the Two Oceans Aquarium. Lunch and dinner are at your leisure, allowing you to enjoy the day at your own pace.

 

Day 10: End Of Itinerary

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel. You will then be collected for a private transfer to Cape Town International Airport to check-in for your flight back home to Singapore.

TRIPLE SHARING POLICY: 

  • NO REDUCTION FOR TRIPLE SHARE ADULTS in South African Hotels. 
  • Please check on the triple sharing policy for the individual hotels upon request. 
  • Note that single supplement is payable for stay in hotels that are unable to accommodate 3rd adult. 

 

CHILD POLICY: 

  • A maximum of 2 children under 12 years of age is allowed to share with a maximum of 2 full paying adults. A maximum of 2 children per family group is allowed at discounted rates. 
  • A child of 12 years and older will be charged the full applicable adult per person rate. If a child shares with only 1 adult, the child will pay the full applicable adult sharing rate. 
  • Certain accommodation establishments refuse permission to children less than 12 years of age, e.g., certain private game lodges. Supplier child conditions will apply in these cases. 
  • Certain accommodation establishments only accept children in family units. These units are often in limited supply and subject to availability. Acceptance of any child on discounted conditions is therefore subject to availability and confirmation of such units.
